Binti Africa Foundation

capacity building / women entrepreneurship

UNDP defines capacity building as the creation of an enabling environment with appropriate policy and legal frameworks, institutional development, including community participation (of women in particular), human resources development and strengthening of managerial systems.

Binti Africa builds the capacities of rural women through women groups, to be able to take part in profitable businesses and income generating activities. We do this by providing education on business skills and entrepreneurship, and encouraging the communities to exploit the potential in their various unique environments.

We also facilitate the women towards attending Adult Education classes to improve on their literacy and numeracy skills which are an integral part in business transactions.

We are currently working with women to locally produce affordable sanitary pads for use by girls in schools, and poor rural populations for whom the conventional sanitary pads are out reach due to their cost.
